A primary is still on tap for LD40 this June, Save Jerseyans, but the dispute over who will get the Passaic GOP’s formal backing appears to be over.
The suit filed by Paterson Republican committeeman William Connolly over his controversial “bullet vote” has been dismissed according to PolitickerNJ’s Chase Brush.
At the end of March, Superior Court Judge Ernest M. Caposelaon issued an injunction barring LD40 candidates Asm. David Russo, Asm. Scott Rumana, John Capo, and Joe Bubba from running in the primary with the Passaic County Regular Republican Organization pending an April 9th hearing that’s now moot.
No surprise here, the Party has the ultimate say on who is a “Republican or whatever’ in good standing to use the Brand Name….ownership is always 9/10th of the law. Most of these end runs on the system fall short unless you have the backing of the corporate structure…
