VIDEO: Christie swipes at Bush, adds U.S. doesn’t need another “one-term U.S. senator”

By Alyssa Lafage | The Save Jersey Blog

During an interview this morning on NBC’s Today program, Save Jerseyans, Governor Chris Christie offered indirect criticism of the current field of Republicans vying for the nomination by suggesting that he would like to see a governor or former governor selected.

“I think a governor is going to be a nominee, a governor or former governor because I believe that our party and our country needs somebody who’s actually run something,” he said:

While I have great respect for a number of those folks, I don’t believe we’ve done well with the experiment of a one-term U.S. senator being president of the United States.”

Tell us how you really feel, Guv!

Currently the official list of primary contenders includes Senators Ted Cruz, Rand Paul and Marco Rubio.

Christie also took aim at former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, diminishing his current standing in the race.

“It seems to me like that train has slowed down pretty significantly,” he added.

  1. I think that because of the Obama experiment, America will seek in our Chief Executive, someone who has executive experience, either public or private. I, personally, am looking for someone who understands individual sovereignty, natural rights, and negative liberty – so I look right past Governor Christie. As much as that is humanly possible.

  2. We also don’t need a liberal RINO crony capitalist, and a failed governor either like Christie! He can blame his low poll numbers on Bridgegate and the media to his own detriment, but we in NJ know the truth about him and that will not change. Many people I know will make sure his record speaks for itself. The “Game” he talks about will not fool so easily the masses as it has in the past. People I know, especially when it comes to Common Core, know very well about how he talks out of both sides of his mouth. He has no good record of any kind that has helped the people of this state. Just ask the masses that have already left the state and the many more that are making exit plans. Boy is he Arrogant!!!!

  3. Funny, I did not hear Ted Cruz try to divide or discredit the other candidates, just the opposite in fact. It always seems to come from the establishment wing.
