Republican Christine Giordano Hanlon was confirmed on Monday afternoon as Monmouth County Clerk by the State Senate, Save Jerseyans.

Hanlon, an attorney at Archer & Greiner, had been sworn in as acting clerk back in March as the replacement for M. Claire French who had served since 1997.
“We congratulate Christine on being affirmed as the county clerk,” said Senators Joe Kyrillos and Jennifer Beck in a joint statement. “She is the right choice for the people of Monmouth County, and we are confident that she will continue to excel in executing some of the most vital government services, just as she has in the past in her impressive community and organizational leadership positions.”
The County Clerk’s office handles a variety of tasks including, but definitely not limited to the recording of real property records for the County (mortgages, land title deeds, liens, etc.), processing vote-by-mail applications, and performing wedding ceremonies.
She’ll now seek a full term of her own on the November ballot along with incumbent Monmouth County Freeholder John Curley.
