Snow? What snow? Ever since the 1960 election, the tiny New Hampshire town of Dixville Notch has gathered at midnight in the ballroom of The Balsams (a local hotel) to cast the first ballots for president…
It’s political junkie heaven!
This year’s winners:
Dixville Notch reports Kasich wins GOP vote with 3 votes, Trump with 2 votes, Sanders wins Dem vote with 4 votes and Hillary Clinton 0 votes

Early momentum as @JohnKasich wins GOP vote in Dixville Notch! Let's keep it going, New Hampshire. pic.twitter.com/CtXnCn9c4Z

Kasich was reportedly the only GOP candidate who visited there. A smart PR/optics move to set the right tone for what could be – according to the final polls – an expectations-defying day for the Ohio governor?
Any strength from Kasich an obviously ominous sign for our own hard-charging governor even if it’s somewhat anecdotal. Christie likely needs to win the ‘governor lane’ today or face a forced exist from the 2016 contest as donors begin to place bets at other tables.
For what it’s worth, Dixville Notch has been a more reliable bellwether in partisan primaries than general elections…
Meanwhile, in Millsfield, where a similar tradition takes place…
Millsfield NH reporting Ted Cruz wins GOP with 9 votes, Trump with 3 votes, Rubio, Kasich, Bush, Christie, Firoina & Paul with 1 vote each.

Finally, over at Hart’s Location, a town with a tradition of early voting going back to 1948…
