Here’s one more:
WMUR-9 (New Hampshire’s ABC station) is reporting that Ted Cruz‘s much-hyped Indiana 4 p.m. rally will center around the announcement of Carly Fiorina as his running mate….
Other unconfirmed reports have Fiorina, a former 2016 candidate and HP CEO veteran, flying to Indiana this afternoon.
If true, the move is clearly an attempt to change the primary cycle’s current dominant narrative which, over the last couple of weeks, hasn’t been good for Cruz as the Donald romps in the blue-tinted Northeast and Mid-Atlantic and picks up enough delegates to mathematically bar his rivals from competing to win on the first convention ballot.
But could Fiorina help Cruz? There’s an argument to be made it was designed to help him peel of delegates in the upcoming California primary. Desperate move vs. inspiration pick narrative battle and delegate calculus aside, the New Jersey-based Monmouth Polling Institute’s numbers suggest it’s an open question:

Love Carly. Too little too late. Cruz is a solid person with strong conservative and constitutional credentials. The MSM and his own party establishment successfully defined him as an extremist and he couldn’t counter that impression. He failed to connect with enough voters at a gut level.

Both. Heading off any premature talk about anointing Trump and impressions of momentum. Trump is going to lose at least five states coming up, Dakotas, Montana, Nebraska, Washington, maybe Oregon and Indiana.But, it looks like campaign strategizing off a bad night.

Trump is about to see a mass exodus from his campaign. He will head into Cleveland below the 1237 and whine like a brat in a candy store getting his hand slapped. He will then endore Hillary.
Too liitle too late. I think she should politely decline. I see no upside for her.
On one hand, it’s a brilliant political move to win districts in California, denying Trump the delegates he needs. On the other hand, Carly brings too much baggage, especially from her Senate campaign, nor is she a real conservative. So, I rank it in between, possibly leaning to desperate. WAY to early to pick a vp running mate even with the unconventional season.
Brilliant in the sense the media is not talking about Trump’s 5 state sweep; desperate in he’s now shown the world he’s more childish than Trump. Cruz just handed this election to the Dems

Just finished listening to her interview with Mark Levin. Fiorina is an excellent choice for Veep and will do justice to Ted’s campaign.

The only thing more politically irrelevant than Ted Cruz at this point is Carly Fiorina.

He may know something about the RNC that we don’t. Also shows he still has confidence in his campaign. I don’t think it hurts him.
