There was a time, not all too long ago, when many political observers would’ve bet the farm that summer 2016 would be a very, very busy one for Chris Christie.
It still has been one albeit in a difference capacity than anyone would’ve guessed back in 2013. That’s a testament to the skill of the GOP’s most talented political survivalist.
His 29% approval rating in New Jersey only tells part of the story. By design born out of necessity, the Governor of New Jersey is now more of a pop culture celebrity than a political leader in the eyes of the public notwithstanding his role as Donald Trump’s transition czar. Everyone wants to meet a star! Even if they don’t want the star to be president.
That sentiment was clearly evident when Christie dropped by the Point Pleasant and Seaside boardwalks in Ocean County, New Jersey over the weekend:
