Local family boosts N.J. police department’s morale after Dallas shootings

It’s been a rough 48-hours for American police officers and their loved ones, Save Jerseyans, but in true patriotic fashion, citizens are stepping up to support their men and women in blue after Thursday night’s vile shootings in Dallas, Texas.

A notable case close to home?

Shelley Gershner and her son (pictured below) unexpectedly dropped by the Aberdeen Township (Monmouth County), New Jersey police department on Friday to drop off a tray of treats as a token of support for the community’s law enforcement personnel.

It goes without saying that the police were positively delighted to receive the gesture:

“A much needed morale boost today when a resident and her son visited the police department to express that ‘we all have a better day and hope for world peace,'” the Department explained via its official Facebook page. “We cannot thank you enough for this kind gesture.”

A proud Gershner explained to Facebook commentators (the photo boasted over 1,000 ‘likes’ as of this writing) that it was all her son’s idea.

THIS is our America, folks, were a strong majority still believe ALL lives matter.

There’s hope. Hang in there!
