“Do you believe that Hillary Clinton is a bigot?” the host asked Chris Christie on ABC’s “This Week” program.
“I’ll tell you this,” the New Jersey Governor replied. “This type of discourse in the campaign is just unwarranted. But it was started by Ms. Clinton.”
“Ms. Clinton has started the idea of calling Donald Trump those types of names.”
What names? The 2016 Election recently reached a new low (as if anyone thought it was possible) when the Democrat nominee has saturated the airwaves with ads associating her opponent with the KKK and white supremacists. Trump responded by calling Clinton a “bigot” and pointing out her relationship with the late Democrat KKK Senator Robert Byrd.
Hillary Clinton “injected this type of commentary into this race” Christie added on This Week, insisting “you can’t then sit back and start complaining about it or have some of your handmaidens in the media complain about it.”
“The fact is that she’s been the person who started this type of conversation in the campaign,” he said. “She should be ashamed of herself.”
