No one seriously believes that New Jersey will be in play this year, Save Jerseyans, except for perhaps the most ardent Trumpies.

Trump is a guest speaker for the September 24th ‘Humanity United Against Terror’ charity event scheduled to take place at the PNC Arts Center in Holmdel; the group hopes to raise money (there are 10,000 tickets available for $29 pp) to benefit victims of terrorism.
The event is sponsored by the Republican Hindu Coalition.
Team Trump needs friends wherever it can find them.
N.J. is traditional a breadbasket for GOP political donations notwithstanding our state’s strong-leftward lean in federal contests.
Not in 2016. This election is different in that respect with Donald Trump bringing in only $902,634 thus far per the FEC whereas Romney fetched $17,765,886 from NJ GOP contributors back in 2012. Governor Christie’s own candidacy undoubtedly played at least some role in tapping-out the pool of available cash. Other variables (including Trump’s lack of popularity on Wall Street) are likely larger factors.
