An October surprise?
With N.J. implications?
On Friday, FBI Director James Comey reportedly informed Congress that the bureau has “learned of the existence of emails that appear to be pertinent to the investigation.” A fresh inquiry into Hillary Clinton’s emails is underway with less than 2 weeks to go before Election Day 2016.
Amazingly? The emails reportedly came to light from Anthony Weiner’s electronic devices.
Save Jersey has previously covered the deep connections between Clinton and Josh Gottheimer, the challenger in this year’s tight NJ-05 House race, whom the Democrat nominee herself once introduced as an honorary Clinton family member.
Could this 11th hour bombshell impact races down-ballot?
The campaign of Congressman Scott Garrett (R, NJ-05) unsurprisingly pounced.
“If Josh Gottheimer refuses to denounce Hillary Clinton, it shows that he is beholden to the Clinton network as a result of their efforts – documented in the Wikileaks email releases – to help him buy a seat in Congress,” a Garrett spokesperson declared in a short but heated press release.
Garrett and his team have struggled this cycle despite the district’s history red-tint due in large part to the avalanche of Leftist money pouring into the sprawling North Jersey district.
“Josh Gottheimer cannot honestly say he is running to represent the interests of the Fifth District, when he still supports the Clintons and the $2 billion conflict of interest that is the Clinton Foundation,” the campaign press team added.
