NJ GOP PRIMARY: Ciattarelli Qualifies for Matching Funds

Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli (R-16) is the second (and likely only) Republican candidate to qualify for matching funds in this year’s gubernatorial primary, Save Jerseyans.

“Just as I have done for my investors, shareholders and Fortune 500 clients as a Main Street business owner, I am providing New Jersey voters with a specific plan to turnaround our state, and they are responding by investing their dollars in me and my candidacy,” said Ciattarelli in a statement. “Voters are tired of platitudes and poll-tested rhetoric. My five-point plan is detailed and dynamic. It provides property tax relief by fixing our failed school funding formula, encourages small business and economic growth by reforming our state’s onerous tax code, and will reduce the size and cost of government. What’s resonating more and more with each passing day is that our state and our party is in desperate need for a new message, a new messenger, and an entirely new direction.”

Front runner Kim Guadagno announced her own qualification back on March 1st.

$430,000 is the primary cycle matching funds threshold (successful primary candidates need to reapply for the general election). Qualifying candidates receive 2:1 matching funds from ELEC, or $2.00 in public money for every $1 raised throughout the primary up to a maximum match of $4 million.
