LD11: Gopal’s Petition Challenge to Beck Falls Far Short

State Senator Jen Beck (R-Monmouth) rallies LD11 residents against the gas tax hike.

Only 5 of the 145 petition signatures filed by the campaign of state Senator Jennifer Beck (R-11) were thrown out by a judge earlier Monday afternoon.

100 is minimum threshold for New Jersey legislative candidate.

The LD11 State Senate challenge by Vin Gopal, the former Monmouth Democrat chairman, is expected to be one of this fall’s most competitive. Both of Beck’s incumbent Republican running mates lost their bids for reelection in 2015 after an 11th hour independent expenditure onslaught.

Her running mates this time around: Ocean Twp. Deputy Mayor Rob Acerra and Red Bank Councilman Mike Whelan.
