It’s a mixed bag for Republicans.
On the one hand, their candidate Fran Greiner appears to have posted a double digit loss against Senate President Steve Sweeney.
On the other? Sweeney, who’s to the right of Governor-elect Murphy, might be the only thing standing between New Jersey and complete and utter fiscal ruin over the next few years. His win is also a major black eye for the uber-powerful teacher’s union that failed to make a dent and, arguably, will now see its power and influence somewhat diminished.
