ROONEY: New Jersey’s $15 minimum wage will maximize robot workers, and they’ll be nicknamed “Murphys”

The renewed push to increase New Jersey’s minimum wage to $15 per hour holds dire consequences for our state’s workforce, Save Jerseyans, but it’s very good news for… robots.

Wherever the minimum wage goes up? Machines are replacing human workers at an accelerate clip. A $15 minimum wage will accelerate that process in New Jersey, and Garden State big box stores, fast food chains, and convenience stores will increasingly rely on robots to do jobs once performed by minimum wage workers.

Save Jersey‘s Matt Rooney joined Bill Spadea on NJ 101.5 this Tuesday to discuss the trend and suggest an appropriate nickname for New Jersey’s new robot residents:
