DeCroce passes on NJ-11 run

Assemblywoman BettyLou DeCroce (R-26), NJ-11 congressional candidate Jay Webber‘s running mate in 2017, issued the following statement on Wednesday morning:

“First and foremost, I want to thank all of the people – from both parties – who reached out and encouraged me to run for the open congressional seat. Public service has been an integral part of my life, and being able to represent this region in Congress would be a high honor. Sadly, the amount of money required to run makes pursuing federal office prohibitive for nearly everyone. Candidates spend more time asking for money than they do talking with voters. Even worse, campaigns have become an exchange of nasty, partisan insults, as opposed to a substantive debate about how we can improve the country. A race to the bottom where one candidate ultimately wins, but voters and taxpayers lose. I will continue to do my best to work across party lines and make things better here at home, while staying true to my conservative principles of lower taxes, smaller government, individual freedom and personal responsibility.”
