The NCAA’s Sweet Sixteen will battle it out on Friday night, Save Jerseyans, but there’s a different tournament (of sorts) going on this year in New Jersey politics.
Republican Bob Hugin’s U.S. Senate campaign is having some fun with it.
“Murphy and Menendez are anything but Sweet,” reads the campaign’s Facebook page. “We pitted their worst personal fouls against each other in our own misdeed matchups.”
The campaign, which hopes to capitalize on the incumbent’s ethically-challenged history, then encourages its social media supporters to “[v]ote right here on Facebook to see which Murphy or Menendez misdeed has failed New Jersey the most” by “[f]ill[ing] out your blank bracket with their worst offenses” and then posting them.
Needless to say it’s a race to the bottom:

Winning won’t be a layup for Hugin; the first poll out has him trailing Menendez by 17-points. That same survey found there’s room for growth, however, with 83% not yet knowing enough about Hugin to pass judgment.
