TRENTON, N.J. — Is celebrating the American Revolution… racist?
That’s the discussion right now at Cherry Hill High School East after someone complained that this year’s prom tickets — urging students to ‘party like it’s 1776’ at the events venue, the American founding-themed Constitution Center in Philadelphia — are racially insensitive.
Save Jersey‘s Matt Rooney was back on Chasing News this Monday and, as you might imagine, he’s a decided “NO” in this debate.
“If partying like its 1776 is now inherently racist, somebody better tell the black cast of Hamilton that they need to close up their production,” Rooney explained to host Bill Spadea.
