NJ-05: Lonegan goes up on TV with immigration-themed ad

WASHINGTON TWP., N.J. — Steve Lonegan is on the air for the  3 1/2 weeks of Primary 2018. Or at least that’s the plan according to his campaign.

The 5th Congressional District Republican candidate’s 30-second spot “highlights Mayor Lonegan’s conservative credentials and his support for President Trump’s agenda,” according to his congressional campaign’s accompanying press release.

Lonegan’s press team did not immediately respond to a request for comment as to whether this is a cable or network ad buy.

Watch:

Transcript:

“Steve Lonegan is running for congress to stand with President Trump. Pro-life. Pro Second Amendment.”

“Build the wall. Stop sanctuary cities. Crack down on illegal immigration. Steve Lonegan will stand with President Trump and never back down.”

Lonegan is battling with former Cresskill Councilman John McCann for the GOP nomination.

For his part, the former Bogota Mayor (Lonegan) is no stranger to immigration issue-related controversies: he once tried to make English the official language of his municipality and, on another occasion, allegedly hired undocumented immigrants to assemble lawn signs.
