OPINION: The Glaring Cognitive Dissonance Plaguing Phil Murphy’s Tax Policies

From Hizzonor, boasting about a company relocating to New Jersey:

“Governor Murphy Announces Teva Pharmaceuticals to Locate US Headquarters in New Jersey”

The pull quote:

“The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (EDA) approved performance-based tax credits through the Grow New Jersey (Grow NJ) program at its June 2018 board meeting.”

In other words, a big tax cut produced a high profile relocation.

Do I remember a certain group of people incessantly bleating about this sort of thing when it happened under a certain former governor?

Again with the cognitive dissonance: on the one hand, the Administration crows about the results of tax cuts, while, at the same time, boosting taxes on every other business in the state?

How many companies which aren’t big enough to warrant a gubernatorial press release will refuse to move, or vamoose, because of Phil Murphy’s obscene tax and spend policies?
