Anti-Menendez Super PAC drops first TV spot, and it’s brutal

TRENTON, NJ – Integrity NJ had at least $2 million in its coffers as of July, all earmarked to help take down Democrat U.S. Senator Bob Menendez.

On Thursday, the independent expenditure committee dropped its first television ad, “Firsts,” which runs through a few famous New Jersey “firsts” in American history including Menendez’s 14-count federal indictment as a sitting U.S. Senator. Menendez was never acquitted, of course; the federal corruption prosecution ended in a mistrial, but the U.S. Senate’s bipartisan ethics committee subsequently admonished him, “severely,” and order him to repay $1 million in improperly accepted gifts.

The committee simultaneously launched www.shamelesslycorruptmenendez.com.

“Bob Menendez doesn’t deserve a return trip to Washington, D.C.  He has chosen to serve himself and the interests of his wealthy donors above those of New Jersey.  Even his own colleagues in the US Senate, both Democrats and Republicans, ‘severely admonished’ him for his actions.  New Jersey deserves better,” said Pete Sheridan, Executive Director and a former NJGOP operative during the Christie era. “Integrity NJ will be aggressively making the case over the next nearly 100 days that New Jersey needs a Senator we can be proud of.”
