Why I’m supporting Webber over Sherrill in NJ-11 | Carroll

Sherrill (L) and Webber (R)

In 1989, NJ made the mistake of electing Jim Florio. During his campaign, he said he saw “no need” for any tax increases, only to impose the largest tax increase in history immediately upon taking office. Even Bill Bradley — the rare Democrat who knew a thing or two about how cutting taxes hugely benefits NJ — running for an office which had no responsibility for Florio’s obscene policies, felt the heat and came close to losing.

Back then, NJ voters understood that high taxes cripple growth. The resulting Republican legislative majorities cut taxes. Over Florio’s veto, they cut spending. Nationally, William Jefferson Clinton adopted GOP tax cuts (on “the rich”) and spending restraint; the nation and NJ both boomed.

In this race, the Dem is shrewd enough not to reveal her actual views. And her very first vote would be to elect someone like Pelosi — or worse — who passionately believes that taxes on people in NJ are far too low and must explode. No Bill Bradleys –Democrats who understand economics and respect freedom — exist any more. In Trenton, they fight knock-down, drag-out battles over which taxes to increase and what handouts, freebies, and giveaways to fund.

Sherrill, like Gottheimder, purports to be concerned about NJ’s return on its federal tax dollars. And, yet, that deficit is the intentional consequence of her Party’s progressive policies, which heap huge taxes onto “rich” NJ, then send the money, via means-tested welfare programs, to AR. These folks are the best friends that any moocher state ever had.

So, what’s Sherrill’s bold solution to NJ’s absurdly high taxes?

“I will work to find a truly bipartisan tax plan that strengthens our middle class and ensures New Jersey and the 11th district get a fair return on our federal tax dollars.”

WOW!!! Talk about a courageous, specific set of ideas!!!

The key to her philosophy is one which “maintains our revenues”!!! THAT is precisely the problem. We can’t possibly be treated better in NJ if we “maintain our revenues.” For NJ and the US to prosper, the Feds have to get by with a lot less taxpayer money. That requires substantial spending cuts, too.

You’re not going to see that from the Party of Pelosi.

Look at Phil Murphy’s tax-hiking, budget-busting policies; that is EXACTLY how the Dems think. They truly, honestly, passionately believe that you can tax, regulate and spend… er, “invest,” you way to prosperity. That this NEVER works doesn’t bother them , as they don’t actually care about results, as long as their hearts are in the right place.

NJ ranks as number one or two on the list of states which suffers most under Democrats. If I lived in Michigan, I’d hope NJ elected a whole bunch of tax-hiking, big-spending leftists.

But, since I live in NJ, and am not an economic masochist, I will be supporting Webber.
