Gropacus 2020: Demagoguery and rage poetry in Iowa, on Twitter

Surprise! Gropacus (aka Cory Booker) and his fellow 2020 contenders didn’t react to Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination on Saturday by rushing to Professor Ford’s side, Save Jerseyans.

They were tripping over one another to get to Iowa.

Because #BelieveHer was never the goal here. It was a means to an end.

You can guess how Senator Gropacus performed once he was on the ground in Iowa without me telling you. Imagine a terrible high school musical, replete with awkward overacting and cheesy tropes, and the actor(s) completely lack self-awareness of their shortcomings. Hard to watch! You can check out Fox News’s coverage by click here if your pain tolerance is higher than my own.

Gropacus’s Twitter ranting were enough for me. Those of us who’ve been following him for awhile referred to him as “Cory Booker (D-Twitter)” before the Kavanaugh hearing fiasco because of the junior New Jersey senator’s unhealthy obsession with millennial’s preferred social media platform.

What he tweeted over the weekend can best be described as ‘rage poetry,’ which I’m not sure if actually a thing, or at least was a thing, but it definitely is now:

This guy wants to lead the free world, folks.

A man who comports himself like an emo sophomore English lit major after being dumped by his girlfriend. It’d be funny if he (and thousands of others) weren’t serious about it.

But did all of this actually help his chances? Click here for a discussion.
