WASHINGTON, D.C. — The endgame for the nomination battle of Brett Kavanaugh might finally be underway in our nation’s capital.
Late Wednesday night, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced on Twitter that he had filed cloture, signaling the end of debate contingent upon a critical procedural vote on Friday:
I just filed cloture on Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court. There will be plenty of time for Members to review and be briefed on this supplemental material before a Friday cloture vote.

The plan is to hold a confirmation vote over the weekend.
