The Star-Ledger‘s Sunday editorial endorsing Bob Menendez — and by endorse, I mean urging us to “choke” him “down” notwithstanding his legacy of scumbaggery — isn’t news because it’s relevant, Save Jerseyans. It’s not. No one cares about newspaper endorsements in 2018.
What it does tell us is WHY the Media’s opinion pages are now irrelevant:

Editorial Board chieftain Tom Moran’s notoriously far-left board previously urged Menendez to RESIGN, in 2015, after the senior New Jersey Senator’s corruption indictment:
“Regardless of the outcome, it is hard to fathom Menendez’s lack of judgment after a long career in a state that has been cursed by so much corruption. Why would he even dance close to this line?”
Fair enough!
But three years later? After a mistrial AND a “severe admonition” by a bipartisan U.S. Senate ethics panel? Moran now believes (or at least says) that Menendez is preferable to his opponent because his opponent is… a Republican:
“Menendez has his flaws, but when he says he is a fighter for New Jersey, and against Trump, he’s telling the truth.”
Let’s review: Menendez was irredeemable in the editorial board’s eyes! Now he’s meh, okay. #BecauseTrump.
Couldn’t make this s–t up if we tried!
Again, no one is changing his or her vote based off of a dying publication’s self-contradictory, poorly-reasoned, hyper-partisan advice. Faith in the media is at all-time lows for a reason: persuadable citizens instinctively know that the Media doesn’t care about “country over party,” truth, accountability, transparency, good government, or any of the other things which frequently come up in its sanctimonious lectures urging us to oppose Republican candidates.
The Media’s sole goal in 2018 is to advance the agenda of the Left.

People know it, and they’ve discounted for it.
