41: New Jersey’s GOP Nat’l Committeewoman remembers meeting H. W. Bush

TOMS RIVERS, N.J. — New Jersey’s Republican National Committeewoman Virginia “Ginny” Haines — whose resume includes time in the General Assembly and the Ocean County Freeholder Board — reached out to Save Jersey on Saturday to share her experiences with the late President George H. W. Bush:

“A wonderful person who loved our country and his family. I first met President Bush when he and Ronald Reagan were running for office at Woodlake Country Club with his wonderful wife, Barbara. Then again in 1991 when I had the pleasure of being with him as he met with Andy Ciesla, Dave Wolfe and myself when we were running for the Legislature. The picture we took that day is in my office and feel very proud to have met President Bush. Always a gentleman and a person who made you feel as if you had known him all your life. My deepest sympathy to his family at this time. May he rest in peace and let us never forget what he did for all of us.”

Bush died on Friday in Houston, Texas at the age of 94.
