UPDATE: N.J. Senate votes 23-11 to keep Trump off the 2020 ballot unless he releases tax returns

TRENTON, N.J. — A bill (S119which is transparently designed to keep Donald Trump off of New Jersey’s 2020 ballot has passed the N.J. Senate by a decisive 23-11 margin.

The Assembly has yet to act on a companion bill.

An attempted Republican amendment to impose the same tax return requirements for ballot access on state candidates (including candidates for the state senate) was tabled by the Democrat majority.

One Democrat (Bob Andrzejczak of LD1) voted against the measure.

Republican Kip Bateman of LD16 voted for it.
