GLEN ROCK, N.J. – An effort backed by outside activists to replace Columbus Day with ‘Indigenous Peoples’ Day’ in Glen Rock has failed, at least for now.
The Bergen County borough’s council voted 7-0 against the proposed borough calendar change at a jam-packed Wednesday evening council meeting, a climax to weeks of elevated passions and vigorous debate in the suburban bedroom community.
