Webber: Phil Murphy let down victims of sexual assault throughout N.J.

TRENTON, N.J. – The New Jersey Assembly advanced a package of ten bills this week designed to change how state government (and gubernatorial transitions in particular) treat sexual assault.

The legislation was catalyzed by the Murphy Administration’s shocking mishandling of the Katie Brennan/Al Alvarez investigation.

Assemblyman Jay Webber (R-26) told the rest of the committee that the bills, while laudable, can’t be the end of the discussion about how badly Phil Murphy failed New Jersey and alleged victims of sexual assault:
