Retired Admiral Mo Hill triumphs in Toms River mayoral contest

Mo Hill

TOMS RIVER, N.J. – Retired Navy Admiral and Toms River Councilman Maurice “Mo” Hill is the GOP nominee for mayor tonight.

Hill, a staunchly anti-George Gilmore voice in a changing Ocean County Republican landscape, won the three-way race for mayor powered by an anti-establishment message and the dynamic strategy of consultant/campaign manager Art Gallagher. It also appears Hill’s entire council team won, too, in what could end up being a clean sweep in Ocean County’s most populous municipality.

Former Prosecutor Joseph Coronato (34.20%) and Dan Rodrick (24.66%) both trailed Hill (41.07) with 63 of 63 precincts reporting.
