N.J. Democrats Kim, Malinowski and Sherrill vote to let gang members gain U.S. citizenship

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Republicans tried to amend the Democrats’ ‘American Dream and Promise Act’ (H.R. 6) on Tuesday night; had the amendment succeeded, it would have closed a loophole which permits gang members to become U.S. citizens.

It failed 221 to 202.

Democrat Congressmen Andy Kim (NJ-3), Tom Malinowski (NJ-7), and Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) all voted against the amendment and FOR permitting members of street gangs like MS-13 to earn citizenship. New Jersey is a ‘Sanctuary State’ where state and local authorities have been barred by Trenton from assisting federal officials in enforcing immigration law.

The Promise Act itself passed 237 to 187 in the Democrat-controlled House and purportedly aims to provide a pathway to citizenship for so-called ‘Dreamers.’ President Trump would be certain to veto the measure in the unlikely event that the Act ever sees the light of day in the U.S. Senate.

There’s ample evidence that many gang members enter the U.S. as ‘dreamers.’ The 2017 “Operation: Raging Bull” sting resulted in the apprehension of 300 MS-13 gang members. Of those 300, 64 had cross the border illegally as “unaccompanied alien children.”
