NJ-02: Republican candidate Richter raises $413k

AVALON, N.J. – Former construction CEO David Richter hauled in $413,000 during this year’s third quarter and boasts $390,000 cash-on-hand heading into the fall months.

The South Jersey GOP candidate says he raised $113,000 from contributors in just seven weeks; $300,000 of his Q3 haul came from personal funds.

“It is imperative that our party nominates a candidate who can run a well-funded, first-class campaign against Jeff Van Drew, who is one of the most vulnerable Democratic incumbents in Congress,” said Richter.

President Trump carried NJ-02 by 5-points in 2016. Richter’s main GOP primary opponent is millennial Atlantic County engineer Brian Fitzherbert; Fitzherbert’s campaign has not yet released their Q3 numbers.

The primary contest’s victor will face off against freshman Democrat Jeff Van Drew who had $545,822.43 on hand at the end of the second quarter
