NEW YORK CITY, NY – The New York Times raised eyebrows over the weekend for publishing a piece accusing shipping giant FedEx of paying $0 in taxes. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren pounced. But FedEx bit back, too, blasting what it called a “factually incorrect story” and an “outrageous distortion of the truth” while zeroing in on the paper’s alleged hypocrisy on the topic of taxes.
That’s not all: the head of FedEx says he’d like to debate the NYT’s publisher.
