BAH HUMBUG: Murphy expected to drop outdoor gathering limit from 150 to 25

TRENTON, N.J. – Anyone hoping to host a large outdoor Christmas gathering needs to be willing to defy Trenton. 

Multiple news outlets on Monday morning reported that Governor Murphy plans to drop outdoor gatherings limits to 25 persons. The current outdoor limit is 150; the Governor’s prior order exempts “wedding ceremonies, funerals, memorial services, religious activities, or political activities.” Murphy previously loosened up his outdoor restrictions after breaking his own rules by attending two large BLM events.

Murphy is also expected to announce new youth and high school sports restrictions at his daily COVID-19 briefing scheduled for Noon
