Poll: Only 38% believe N.J. is heading in the right direction

A mere 38% of New Jerseyans believe their state is headed in the right direction according to the results of a recent Rutgers-Eagleton survey; 52% say it’s not, and number is a lot worse in South Jersey (59%-35% wrong track) and over in the Jersey Shore counties (61%-29% wrong track).

Only 33% of independents and 13% of Republicans think New Jersey is on the right track; among Democrats, a relatively weak 64% think the Garden State is moving in the right direction.

The poll (if accurate) represents ominous news for Democrats who are seeking to hold multiple U.S. House seats in New Jersey this November to protect their slim majority in Congress.
