Two prisoners are pregnant at N.J.’s all-female prison, home to 27 transgender inmates

The ever-troubled Edna Mahan prison – New Jersey’s only all-female prison which is slated for closure after a long history of rape, abuse and mismanagement – is making headlines again for all the wrong reasons.

According to NJ.com, two female inmates are pregnant likely after “consensual sexual relationships with another incarcerated person.”

Edna Mahan happens to be home to 27 “transgender” inmates thanks to a lawsuit championed by the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of New Jersey.
