A bill to fine retailers for shipping items in oversized boxes advanced in committee on Monday, but the Assembly Democrat majority didn’t get their way without vocal resistance from members of the business community and at least one Republican members.
“You know this bill is ludicrous,” said Assemblyman Brian Bergen (R-25) while addressing his fellow committee members. “How on earth are you going to enforce this? Why make a law that you can’t enforce? It doesn’t make any sense to me.”
