Andrew Yang, Christie Whitman announce formation of new political party

Christine Todd Whitman, the former governor who infamously wrote a book titled “It’s My Party Too” about the GOP under George W. Bush, has finally decided to leave the party, Save Jerseyans.

On Wednesday night, Reuters reported that Whitman, who has long threatened to leave the Republican Party, had decided to join forces with one of 2020’s better known Democrat presidential candidates (and subsequent failed NYC mayoral hopefuls) to form a brand new political party.

From Reuters…

“The new party, called Forward and whose creation was first reported by Reuters, will initially be co-chaired by former Democratic presidential candidate Andrew Yang and Christine Todd Whitman, the former Republican governor of New Jersey. They hope the party will become a viable alternative to the Republican and Democratic parties that dominate U.S. politics, founding members told Reuters.”

Whitman’s legacy up until this point has been (1) complaining for 15+ years about the GOP not being nice enough her, (2) misleading the country about post-9/11 air quality around the attack site, and (3) helping wreck the state pension system.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

According to the report, “[p]arty leaders will hold a series of events in two dozen cities this autumn to roll out its platform and attract support. They will host an official launch in Houston on Sept. 24 and the party’s first national convention in a major U.S. city next summer.”

What do Forwardists believe?

That hasn’t been revealed as of yet, and I suspect some of the target population may be underwhelmed when they finally learn what the Forward Party’s founding fathers are all about (spoiler alert: themselves).
