N.J. Democrats poised to lose 1M registration edge by year’s end

The Democrat advantage will still be formidable, Save Jerseyans, but if current trends hold?

New Jersey Dems could lose their symbolically powerful one million statewide voter registration advantage before 2023 dawns.

According to new data from the New Jersey Division of Elections, Democrats lost 1,077 registered voters in September 2022 (down from 2,531,848 to 2,530,771) but Republicans gained a net of 828  voters (ticking up from 1,524,185 to 1,525,013). That’s a 1,900+ net gain for the GOP. There are now currently 1,005,758 more Democrats than Republicans.

Garden State Republicans hope their recent advances bode well not only for upcoming 2022 contests but especially the 2023 legislative elections when both chambers could theoretically be in play for the first time in two decades.
