This is going to be an annual thing in some school districts, Save Jerseyans.
On Wednesday, the Camden City School District followed Passaic Public Schools and announced a return to masking; Camden schools are imposing a two-week mandatory mask rule through January 17th:

What’s notable?
This super’s letter doesn’t just cite Covid-19 (which is close to harmless for most people and the vast majority of children) but also RSV – a common childhood virus – and the flu. So the basis has been established to mask annually for flu season independent of the novel coronavirus, an outcome which some of us predicted when it became clear that maskers were no longer tethered to even the pretense of actual science.
It’s also worth pointing out that kids in Camden – one of the state’s poorest and worst performing schools districts notwithstanding massive taxpayer investment – sadly have MUCH bigger things to worry about than the flu.
Merry Christmas, kids. Sorry your childhood sucks.
