Kean “excited to hit the ground running” after freshman orientation

The 118th Congress will convene on January 3rd, Save Jerseyans, and Republicans will control the U.S. House of Representatives for the first time since January 2019 with a slim 222-seat majority (a mirror of the Democrats’ own current majority).

One of the GOP’s freshman class members is Tom Kean Jr. (R, NJ-07) who completed orientation this week and says he’s been working to get his office operational.

“Rhonda, the team and I are finishing up our final day of New Member Orientation in Washington,” Kean tweeted on Friday. “We’ve spent the past few weeks organizing and setting up an office that’s ready to serve #NJ07 on day 1. I am excited to hit the ground running on January 3rd!”

Kean is one of two new House members from the Garden State this year (along with Rob Melendez), and he’s the only new Republican from New Jersey to join the 118th Congress after defeating two-term incumbent Tom Malinowski.
