Van Drew, Smith vote against $1.7 trillion omnibus; five N.J. Dems voted by proxy

The shameful omnibus bill cleared the U.S. House on Friday, Save Jerseyans, averting a government shutdown (as if we’d miss them?) but saddling Americans with billions of dollars in extra inflation-driving spending and debt year-over-year.

How did your representatives vote?

Both of New Jersey’s current GOP members – Jeff Van Drew (R-2) and Chris Smith (R-4) – voted against it along with 201 others, almost all Republicans.

Five New Jersey Democrats – Gottheimer, Sires, Payne, Sherrill, and Watson Coleman – voted by proxy.

221 other members of Congress also voted by proxy.
