New Jersey Councilwoman Eunice Dwumfour was murdered on Wednesday evening, gunned down outside of her apartment complex in Sayreville, New Jersey according to ABC 7 News.
Dwumfour reportedly sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was ultimately pronounced dead outside inside her white Nissan which had crashed nearby the Camelot at La Mer apartment complex where she resided.
A Republican elected to Sayerville council in 2021, Dwumfour was only 30 years old.
According to RLS Media, witnesses saw the alleged gunman flee to the Garden State Parkway which abuts the complex. Investigators had not disclosed a suspected motive to the Media as of Thursday morning, nor had authorities named or described a suspect.
“Beyond her dedication to our community, I can share that she was a woman of deep faith and worked hard to intergrate her strong Christian beliefs into her daily life as a person and a community leader, Mayor Victoria Kilpatrick shared in a Thursday morning statement. “On a personal note, I can’t adequately express my feeling of sorrow at the loss of a friend.”
