It’s a no-news bit of news:
A new Morning Consult poll dropped on Tuesday, Save Jerseyans, and it’s allegedly a 49% to 31% advantage for Donald Trump over Ron DeSantis as we rapidly approach the starting gate.
Meanwhile, former governor and ambassador Nikki Haley, who reportedly plans to join the race sometime next week, is far back with 3% out of the starting gate, behind Mike Pence (7%), Ted Cruz and Liz Cheney (2%), and Greg Abbot, Kristi Noem, Mike Pompeo, and Tim Scott all registering at 1%.
Both Chris Christie and Glenn Youngkin are at 0%, but Youngkin actually registered in the poll (someone said his name to a pollster).
“The GOP’s prospective 2024 electorate has heard more about former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley as she prepares to launch a 2024 bid next week. Roughly 2 in 5 potential GOP primary voters have recently heard something about her, marking the highest level of awareness since November,” Morning Consult explained in the polling report. “However, only 3% said they would vote for her if the primary or caucus were held in their state today.”
