No one has contradicted Donald Trump’s prediction that he would be arrested on Tuesday, and plenty of Republicans (and a few sane Democrats) recognize the risk of a political backfire should Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (a Democrat) prosecute the ex-president for an alleged payment to ex-porn star Stormy Daniels.
Among those predicting a boomerang effect is Twitter and Tesla chieftain Elon Musk.
“If this happens, Trump will be re-elected in a landslide victory,” opined the billionaire on Friday in response to one of many reports of an impending Trump arrest:
