Covering for a diminished president: bad for the country (and the POTUS) | Glading

An estimated 450 people work in the West Wing of the White House.  Another 100 people, give or take, maintain the president’s private residence.  Then there are the untold number of Secret Service agents who are stationed at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Add the vice president and the other 24 cabinet members to the mix and there are easily several hundred federal employees who come in contact with President Biden every day.  So, that begs the question: “When will one of them do the right thing and blow the whistle on one of the biggest hoaxes in American history?”

On September 25, 1919, Edith Bolling Galt Wilson found her husband Woodrow, the 28th President of the United States, to be seriously ill with a splitting headache, severe nausea, and twitching facial muscles.  Six weeks later, Wilson’s personal physician, Dr. Cary Grayson, reported that there was a “curious drag or looseness at the left side of his mouth,” clear evidence of a TIA (transient ischemic attack).  In other words, Woodrow Wilson had suffered a mini-stroke.

Joseph Tumulty, Wilson’s private secretary, hastily issued an intentionally misleading statement that the President was experiencing “a nervous reaction in his digestive organs.”  Shortly thereafter, Wilson’s cross-country train trip, on which he was trying to convince the American people of the necessity of joining the League of Nations, was cancelled.

Then, on October 2nd, Mrs. Wilson urgently called for Dr. Grayson to attend to her stricken husband.  After examining Wilson, Dr. Grayson emerged from the bedroom and exclaimed, “My God, the President is paralyzed!”

From that date until Wilson’s second term ended in March 1921, Edith Wilson served as her husband’s protector, shielding him from the press and all but the most essential visitors.  She also screened every piece of paper that was meant for the President, discarding the least relevant and only forwarding the most critical.  In essence, Mrs. Wilson served as the unelected Chief Executive of the United States for almost 17 months.

Fast forward to 2023 and the situation at the White House is eerily similar.  Once again, a First Lady – motivated by love, political ambition, or both – is covertly hiding her husband’s declining health from the American people.  Likewise, his doctors and closest confidants are aiding and abetting a colossal coverup of President Biden’s rapidly failing mental faculties.

Just like in 1919, when Vice President Thomas Marshall was left hanging because President Wilson stubbornly refused to resign – and both Mrs. Wilson and Dr. Grayson refused to certify in writing that he was incapacitated – the United States today is saddled with another debilitated Commander-in-Chief.  Not that I am wishing for a Harris presidency, which might prove even more cataclysmic than the current Biden administration.  However, a diminished president makes for a diminished country… and Joe Biden is clearly diminished.  Even worse, other countries, including our adversaries, have noticed and are taking full advantage of the situation.

Woodrow Wilson spent the final year and a half of his presidency partially paralyzed, partially blind, and cognitively impaired.  Whereas Joe Biden is clearly slowing down physically (as exhibited by his stilted walk and raspy voice), it is his inability to communicate and comprehend that is the most problematic.

In 2020, Joe Biden campaigned from his basement bunker, citing Covid as the reason.  We suspected then – and know now – that his refusal to appear in public was a mere smokescreen designed to hide his failing mental acuity.  Fortunately, the pandemic is over, and President Biden will be forced to hit the campaign trail, although the DNC has already cancelled any Democratic debates and frontloaded the primary seasons to virtually assure his coronation.

However, at some point, President Biden will have to share a stage with Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis, or some other fast-talking and hard-hitting GOP challenger.  Or just imagine him trying to go toe-to-toe with someone as articulate as Nikki Haley or Tim Scott?  It’s not going to be pretty, Jill Biden.

Better for some patriotic whistleblower to speak up now and tell the country what is evident to even the most casual observer: that Joe Biden is being propped up by selfish sycophants and pandering physicians.  Everyone knows that the emperor has no clothes, so let’s stop parading him around naked.
