POLL: Biden is losing to Trump and DeSantis, too

The Republican primary field is in unchartered territory with an ex-president frontrunner who’s currently under indictment. That’s (arguably) the good news for Democrats.

The bad news?

Joe Biden’s own polling position continues to suck.

Coming on the heels of a March Monmouth University poll showing only 1 in 4 Democrats want their 2020 candidate to run for reelection in 2024, the results of a new Rasmussen survey show the incumbent trailing both Donald Trump AND Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in hypotheticaly head-to-head match-ups.

“The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that, if the 2024 presidential election were between Biden and former President Donald Trump, 47% of Likely U.S. voters would vote for Trump, while 40% would vote for Biden. Another 11% say they would vote for some other candidate,” the GOP polling outfit explained.

DeSantis leads Biden by a similar 8-point margin, 46% to 38%.

Another happy data point for the GOP: only 5% of Republican voters report plans to “go third party” in the event that 2024 ends up being a Trump vs. Biden rematch.
