SEE, I TOLD YOU SO: Pentagon reportedly worried offshore wind jeopardizes national security

A few of our Leftist readers (yes, they exist!) scoffed when, in early March, yours truly warned that the Murphy-Biden offshore wind push wasn’t just bad for whales, dolphins, tourism and electric bills but also the national security of the United States. There are well-documented concerns, for example, of radar interfering with military maritime craft.

I’m not happy about being right…

This week, Bloomberg reported that Joe Biden’s own Pentagon is concerned that these wind turbines – including hundreds planned by Orsted off of Cape May County’s coast – present a hazard for naval operations. Awkward? You bet…

…and guess which hazard they’re specifically concerned about?

“The Defense Department official said the representations were designed to pinpoint areas that present the most challenges — generally where the Pentagon would be unable to continue its mission as currently conducted in the space. The focus going forward is on finding ways to accommodate wind development, including by adjusting operations to allow the activity, the official said. That could take the form of shifting the location of military exercises and other steps — such as optimizing radar processing systems — to minimize interference from turbines.” [Emphasis added.]
