The negative impacts of offshore wind are rapidly becoming common knowledge, but no one communicates the turbines’ deadly consequences with half as much color as former President Donald Trump.
Trump addressed a Summerville, South Carolina rally on Monday and laid into the projects for the harm they’ve inflicted on marine mammal populations.
“There has only been – listen to this – one such whale killed off the coast of South Carolina in the last fifty years,” Trump explained. “But, on the other hand, their windmills are causing whales to die in numbers never seen before. Nobody does anything about that; they’re washing up onshore.”
“You wouldn’t see it once a year. Now they’re coming up on a weekly basis,” Trump added. The windmills are driving them crazy. They’re driving the whales, I think, a little batty.”
The Biden Administration admitted earlier this year to “gaps” in their knowledge concerning the impact of offshore wind farms on whales, dolphines, and other sea creatures despite moving full-steam ahead with approvals for new projects including off the coast of the Jersey Shore which has seens dozens of wash-ups since December 2022.

President Trump gets it.
A historic number of whales have washed up on our Atlantic Coast, yet this admin pushes ahead while offshore wind developers continue to ask for taxpayer handouts.
Why no investigations? Why no environmental outrage? Why is the mainstream media silent? pic.twitter.com/nhpAKmHuCb
