You get what you pay for, folks. In this case, what you vote for.
Fresh off of a thumping of the minority party in his final midterm election cycle, Governor Murphy is clearly feeling emboldened. As if running his wife for U.S. Senate wasn’t proof enough, the Democrat told a business organization conference on Tuesday that he supports letting the state’s 2.5% corporate tax surcharge expire. But.
Here’s the but:
.@GovMurphy tells @NJBIA crowd he still supports letting the 2.5% Corporate Business Tax surcharge sunset at the end of this year—despite speculation it could rescue @NJTransit. (More tonite, @NJSpotlightNews) But he followed it up with this comment: pic.twitter.com/o0gEMoZJpD

The hard-Left in Trenton wants to keep it in place. The rallying cry: soak the rich to save NJ Transit!
Interestingly, Jon Bramnick (R-21) recently told a separate crowd that he’s open to a tax for the purpose of boosting public transportation.
Something’s coming. Because elections have consequences.
