Red and purple New Jersey communities are continuing to ditch Phil Murphy’s transgender school guidance, Save Jerseyans.
On Tuesday night, the Old Bridge Board of Education voted 5-4 to rescind Policy 5756, the state’s transgender guidance for schools which had been interpreted as barring administrators and teachers from informing parents about their own child’s expressed gender confusion.
Specifically, the policy alleges that there “no affirmative duty for any school district personnel to notify a student’s parent or guardian of the student’s gender identity or expression,” but the state had sued the Hanover Township, Middletown, Manalapan-Englishtown and Marlboro school districts over their refusal to follow what had been incorrectly presented by the state as “mandatory.”
Since a deputy attorney general subsequently admitted during oral argument that the mandate was, in fact, only guidance after all, a steady stream of other school districts have voted to cease abiding by the divisive policy which a majority believe represents a severe affront to parental rights.
